Stephen May is a Real Estate professional specializing in Hospitality properties in Manhattan. Some of the real estate services Steve provides his clients include site selection, site research & professional referrals, demographics, lease negotiations and renegotiations.

Steve is a real estate veteran who is highly regarded for his expertise specializing in hospitality properties, including Restaurants, Lounges, Hotels, Food & Beverage retail, Catering and Event Venues. Steve joins JDF after seven successful years practicing Real Estate in Manhattan; five of those years at Winick Realty Group where he created their Hospitality Retail Division and served as Director.

Until 2002, Steve was the Chief Operating Officer/Director of Doctor Squeeze, a publicly traded (DSQZ) chain of juice bars based in New York City.  Prior to that, Steve was the Managing Partner of two of New York City’s most storied billiard & event venues – Pockets Billiard Room and Julian’s Pool Hall.  Pockets was at the forefront of the Flatiron explosion when it opened on 18th Street off of Fifth Avenue in 1988. Julian’s, the legendary 100-year old pool hall was located in the historic Palladium Building on Union Square and it has been immortalized time and again in print and on the silver screen.

Previously, Steve held Management Positions with Marriot, Prime Hotels (an operator of Sheraton and Radisson Hotels) and the venerable Warwick Hotel in Philadelphia.  He has also been an investor and/or partner in a variety of restaurants and catering & event businesses in the New York Metro area.

Steve is a Graduate of Florida International University’s School of Hospitality with Bachelor of Science degrees in Hospitality Management & Business Administration. Steve is married, his wife Gail is a Garment Center Executive and they live in Manhattan with their 13 year-old son Max.
