About JDF

JDF Realty, Inc. is a full service commercial real estate brokerage, management and consulting firm located in midtown Manhattan.  Founded in 1992 by Robert Frischman, the company has evolved into one of the top firms in the city.  Since February, 1992, we have developed an expertise in the marketing of all aspects of commercial real estate in the New York-Metropolitan area.  We enjoy strategic partners throughout the country, through Retail Brokers Network (RBN); as well as internationally, including Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo, London and Paris.

We count among our clients some of the most successful and demanding names in the world of international real estate.  The Durst Organization, Tishman-Speyer, The Witkoff Group, Meringoff Properties, Related Companies, SL Green Real Estate, Jamestown, The Macklowe Organization, Thor Equities, Federal Realty Investment Trust, Vornado Realty Trust and Time Equities have all been beneficiaries of our expertise.  We have also represented Trinity Real Estate, Zuberry Development, Justin Management, United American Land, Jem Realty, Comjem Realty, Jakobson Properties, RD Management, Brause Realty and Park Square Management locally.

The company has successfully managed a number of leasing campaigns including the initial lease up and leasing management of the 25,000 square foot Red Square retail development at 250 East Houston Street in the East Village. We have completed the marketing campaign for the stores at Historic Front Street, a landmarked and environmentally green preservation development featuring 20,000 square feet of stores in the Seaport North section of downtown Manhattan.  This project was especially unique in that we were required to lease only to non-national retailers – local operators who would bring an eclectic flair to a new neighborhood.  This project took three years to complete.  The landmarked Cosmopolitan Hotel in Tribeca was also the beneficiary of our expertise.  While the owners renovated the facility, we were able to reposition the retail space with the likes of a spa which caters to the neighborhood residents as well as hotel guests, a hair salon, Starbuck’s and the Soda Shop

Our hospitality division has completed some of the most noteworthy restaurant deals in the past 10 years in Manhattan.  They include, Alto and L’Impero for Chris Cannon and partners, Buddakan and Morimoto for the Starr Organization, Telepan for Bill Telepan, Boqueria for Yann de Rochefort, Hearth for Marco Canora and partners, Japonais for Jeffrey Beers and partners and The Smith for Jeffrey Lefcourt/Glen Harris and partners.  We recently arranged for a 12,000 square foot build to suit at 179 Lexington for Brother Jimmy’s BBQ prototype facility.  We were responsible for finding the location for Rocco’s, the set for the reality television show The Restaurant starring celebrity chef Rocco Dispirito.  We recently concluded a long term lease transaction for Michael Dorf’s City Winery on Varick Street in Soho – a 20,000 square foot event space featuring Manhattan’s first modern winery.  Needless, to say, JDF Realty is the a leader in hospitality brokerage in Manhattan

We have completed a number of office leases in recent years, most recently with fuseproject, a San Francisco based industrial design firm, Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider LLP and Morvillo, Abramowitz, et al, two well known law firms, Aquamarine Capital Management, Oscar Gruss and Son, a stock brokerage firm and Safe Horizon, a not for profit organization.

We have also been active in acquisitions and net lease consulting and brokerage.  Some of the more notable transactions include the acquisition of 107 West Broadway in Tribeca by the owner’s of the Cosmopolitan Hotel for future development and expansion of the hotel, the sale of the 13,000 square foot commercial condominium at 381 Lenox Avenue in Harlem to private investor Stanley Wolfson and the sale of the net lease on Harlem’s former Bargain World building at 6-14 West 125th Street consisting of 50,000 square feet.

In addition to representing investors in the acquisition of Big Box spaces like the Bargain World property, we recently facilitated the relocation and expansion of Whole Foods Market from its former 30,000 square foot facility in Millburn, NJ to a new, state of the art facility in Vauxhall, NJ, less than a mile away from the Millburn site.
